MUMKIN Scheme: DC Kathua hands over keys of vehicles to 9 beneficiaries

KATHUA, Aug 20: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav, today handed over keys to nine beneficiaries of MUMKIN Scheme here at a brief ceremony held in the office premises of District Employment & Counseling Centre. Assistant Director, Employment & Counseling Centre, Kathua Naresh Kumar; Cluster Head, J&K Bank Satish Sharma; representatives of Mahindra Company besides beneficiaries of MUMKIN scheme were also present. Speaking on the occasion, the DC, Rahul Yadav said the MUMKIN scheme has received massive response from across the district as over 100 applications have been received which were approved by the district committee.
He said with nine more mini commercial vehicles provided under MUMKIN, the total tally of the beneficiaries who availed the scheme goes up to 38.
While throwing light on the youth centric initiatives of the government, the DC said MUMKIN scheme has been launched with the motive to provide support to the unemployed youth of JKUT to make them self-reliant. He said the scheme offers 1.60 lakh subsidy to the beneficiaries on the purchase of small commercial vehicles, while the rest of the amount is provided through Mudra loan by Jammu & Kashmir Bank.
The DC said another scheme ‘Tejaswani’ has been launched under Mission Youth which is a dedicated scheme for matriculate women in 18-35 yeas age category, who can get Rs 5 lakh loan to start a business unit.
Assistant Director, Employment & Counseling Centre, Naresh Kumar informed that under the MUMKIN scheme over 100 applications have been received from the interested youth of Kathua district.
