CLUJ celebrates 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo

Jammu, Aug 20: The Birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo Ghose ,a philosopher, poet, guru and nationalist, and one of the influential leaders of the Indian Independence movement was celebrated by Department of Students welfare, Cluster University Of Jammu .An online talk on the Life and philosophy of Sri Aurobindo was delivered by Prof Asifa Zunaida, from Political Science department of Gitam University,Vishakhapatnam. Dr. Twinkle Suri dean students welfare, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the endeavors of the department to organize such events to enlighten the young learners about the life and philosophy of such legendary figures who have left an indelible mark on our history.
Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu was the Chief Guest at the event . In his address he paid tributes to the legendary figure and stressed that the country needs to reawaken its connection to Sri Aurobindo so that humanity can get back on track for its real work which is the greater evolution of consciousness. He reiterated that he was an inspirational leader who rebelled against the British Empire, he led the young people of the country towards the path of spirituality.
Prof Asifa Zunaida dwelt at length about the massive contribution of Sri Aurobindo towards Nation building and Spiritual growth of humanity. She exhorted that,True education, according to Sri Aurobindo, is not only spiritual but also rational, vital and physical.
The discussion was on the political and spiritual philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, the relevance of his radical ideas for the consequent progress of the Indian National Movement and the culmination into India's independence.
The webinar was attended by Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar, Deans of faculties , Dean Students Welfare, Principals of constituent colleges and Associate and Assistant Deans.
The programme was anchored by Dr. Revika Arora and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Banpreet kour.
