| Assault on Adv Surinder Kour | | Work in Kathua courts remains suspended in protest | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Aug 20: The work remained suspended in all civil and criminal courts of District Kathua in protest against the brutal attack on senior Advocate Surinder Kour of J&K High Court Jammu.
The Executive Committee of District Bar Association Kathua led by its President (DBAK) Adv. Ajat Shatru Sharma unanimously resolved to observe one day suspension of work in all Subordinate Courts including Revenue Courts, Labour Court etc. in protest against the assault on senior Advocate Surinder Kour.
The members of District Bar Association Kathua unanimously condemned the murderous attack on Advocate Surinder Kour and sought the intervention of Chief Justice of J&K High Court to ensure the safety and security of Advocates in J&K UT.
They also impressed upon the Union Govt. of India through the Ministry of Law & Justice and Parliamentary Affairs for immediate issuance of Advocates Protection Ordinance till the passage of the formal draft of Advocates Protection Bill prepared by BAR Council of India.
