| JMC Mayor kick starts development works | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 20: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu today kick started development works by way of laying/ fixing of iron gratings in the lanes opposite Om Palace at Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that it was the long pending demands of the locals and the work of which has been started today with an allotted amount of Rs 30 lakh only.
He further said that all the narrow lanes of the ward upto 8- 10 feet breadth will be covered under this project which will provide a great relief to the passersby.
It will also help a lot in maintaining proper cleanliness in the locality as after installation of iron gratings over the drains, polythenes, garbage & other waste articles cannot be thrown easily into the drains which is the main cause of stagnation of water & blockage of drains.
Mayor told that an amount of Rs 15 Cr. has sanctioned for iron gratings especially for old Jammu city wards having very narrow lanes and later on all other wards will also be covered.
Kishore Kumar Executive Engineer, Ashish Bhasin Assistant Executive Engineer, concerned Junior Engineer & other supervisory staff of Engineering Division-II and Health Section as well as Ved rma, Mohit Vaid, msher Singh, Karan rma, Naseeb Raj, Krishan Lal and other prominent inhabitants of v Nagar, Raj Pura Mangotrian & other adjoining localities were accompanied the Mayor during the tour.
