Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 23: NSS Unit (Khidmat) of GDC Vijaypur celebrated "Rakhi for Equality" by tying rakhi to their sisters' wrist so that she also feels honored for whatever efforts she made to help, protect, care, love and inspire her brothers. Dr. Sangeeta Sudan in her message said that, "Let's celebrate this festival by sharing equal bond of love, protection and care between brother and sister to spread awareness about gender equality as equipping girls and boys, women and men with the knowledge, values, attitudes and skills to tackle gender disparities is a precondition to building a sustainable future for all". Volunteers participated enthusiastically by taking Sammanta pledge, sharing innovative, inspiring and motivational messages, posters, slogans, placcards and tying rakhi (Sammanta ka Bandhan) on their sister's wrist symbolising gender equality which is the need of the hour. |
