Jammu, Aug 27: Prof. Rasal Singh, Head , Deptt. of Hindi and other Languages, Central University of Jammu has requested by writing a letter to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha for promoting Indian Languages in J&K. Prof. Rasal has mentioned in the letter that beside the National Languages of Urdu and English, the three other languages namely Hindi, Dogri and Kashmiri have received the status of national languages under Jammu and Kashmir language Act -2020, passed in the Indian parliament. This initiative of the central government is appreciable. There is also special emphasis on regional/mother/Indian languages in the National Education Policy-2020. This makes more relevant to develop and give promotion to these newly added national languages in J&K. Elaborating the importance of national language Hindi, he has written that Hindi akin to the cultural chord of the nation is a language of national integration. Hindi is a language that helps connect to the mainstream as well as gradually surfacing as global language for employment and opportunities. Thus there is need to give due importance for the promotion and development of Hindi language in J&K. This way the society here shall be able to contribute significantly while communicating and connecting to the country and the world. The spread of Hindi shall enhance the opportunities for services, business, tourism, etc and there shall be immense possibilities for employment. Along with Hindi, in the governance matters there is need for emphasising the use of Dogri and Kashmiri too so that the local people can directly connect with the government schemes and take benefits. He has given six important suggestions for the promotion of Hindi alongwith Dogri and Kashmiri. |
