Rajouri, Aug 29: A troupe of renowned Paddari culture of remote Sub- Division Paddar, bordering with ZANSKAR LADAKH in the North & with PNAGI (HP) in the East, performed its cultural programme at District H.Q. Rajouri, on the invitation of Academy of Art, Culture & languages J&K, Jammu, aiming to preserve & promote the cultural ethnicity of various sects in the nook & corner of the U.T. The performance of the troupe, clad in conventional woolen dress with grass shoes called “POOLAN”, was highly appreciated by the organizers particularly Dy. Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan who belongs to Chenab Valley & takes keen interest in promotion of local culture & languages, the release said. As per release issued here by the Chief Patron “ Paddar Welfare Front” Mr. Ram Singh Chauhan, the cultural troupe was headed by Mohinder Singh Rana, President of the Front & expressed special thanks to Sh. Ab. Majid Bichoo for his exemplary contribution in approaching concerned authorities for constitution of a Board for preservation & promotion of various dialects of Chenab Valley. Worth mentioning, Paddari troupe was declared First in view of its melodious performance, by the Dy. Commissioner who was kind enough to pose with the troupe. The artists who took part include Bodh Raj, Bal Krishan, Sandeep Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Chander Parkash & Ghanisham Singh etc.
