Jammu Bar elections: Sr Advocate M K Bhardwaj elected President

Jammu, Aug 29: Senior Advocate Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj was elected as new president of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu whereas Mohinder Pal Singh (Palli) as Vice-President, Surjeet Andotra as General Secretary, Aditya Shama as Joint Secretary and Amandeep Singh as treasurer on Sunday.
According to the Returning Officer Surinder Singh in the election held for the post of Bar president, Senior Advocate Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj secured 651 votes, K Nirmal Kotwal secured 421votes, Ranjit Singh secured 217 votes and Ashok Sharma bagged 123 votes following which Sr. Adv MK Bhardwaj was elected as New President of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu.
Pertinently, Senior Advocate Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj has won the presidential elections for the third time. He remained Bar President in 1999-2000 and from 2012 to 2014.
For the post of Vice-President Mohinder Pal Singh (Palli) secured 540 votes whereas Gurjeet Singh secured 224 votes, Rohit Verma secured 269 votes whereas Prem Singh Pawar bagged 321 votes. Mohinder Pal Singh (Palli) was declared winner.
Mohinder Pal Singh Palli has remained the President of Young lawyers Association from 2003 till 2010.
For the post of General Secretary Surjeet Singh Andotra secured 563 votes, Amit Gupta got 536 votes and Himanshu Sharma secured 310 votes.
For the post of Joint Secretary Aditya Sharma secured 711 votes whereas Atul Sharma secured 699 votes.
For the post of Treasurer Amandeep Singh secured 806 votes and Sahil Sharma bagged 529 votes.
Of 1591 votes, 1413 votes were polled. (JNF)
