JAMMU, Aug 29: Responding instantly to the demand of locals of Gurha Brahmana and Mohalla Gujjar near Dry Canal and Poonch Colony at Bantalab, Hari Singh Chib President, District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Rural along with Udhay Bhanu Chib, President Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress today visited these areas to take stock of the problems and issues of the people here today. While interacting with the people, the Congress leaders were apprised about the poor water supply in these areas. They told Hari Singh and Uday Bhanu that the water supply pipe lines were laid over 30 years back when there were very limited houses in the area and the said supply-line is unable to meet the drinking water demand of present population which has increased more than10 times over these years. After giving a patient hearing to the people, Hari Singh Chib immediately brought to the notice of concerned Executive Engineer the water crisis asking him for early redressal of drinking water problem of the people. He also told the Executive Engineer that there is also leakage in pipes which craves immediate attention and fix all the leakage points. Regarding the very poor condition of drains which stand damaged at multiple spots besides the road which leads to Gujjar Basti, Mohalla Bhagat and Bhaderwahi Mohalla craving for blacktopping, Hari Singh and Uday Bhanu instantly brought the grievance of the people to the notice of concerned Executive Engineer urging him for early redressal of the problems besides asking the UEED for immediate restoration of damages of drains of the said area. While talking to reporters, Hari Singh squarely held BJP responsible for the miseries of the people of the area. Among those present on the occasion were Pritam Singh, Mohammad Younus, Haji Maqbool, Haji Daman Ali, Rashid Ahmed, Kaka Hussain, Alam Chauhan, Farooq Ahmed, Ashiq Hussain, Abdul Aziz, Riyaz Hussain, Vikram Singh, Garish Thakur, Imran, Kanwal Kumar, Farman Ali, Guffar Ali and Mushtaq Ali. |
