Ex-MLC Subash Gupta slams Govt for escalating hardships of people
9/6/2021 12:20:22 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

KATHUA, Sept 5: Senior Congress leader and ex-MLC Subash Gupta, while addressing a meeting of Congress activists at village Said lambasted Union and J&K UT regimes for escalating the hardships of common people.
Subash Gupta highlighted how petrol and diesel prices are rising and hitting the above century mark 100 per litre. He said that the whole country is witnessing a spiraling rise in the rates of petrol and diesel even amidst this pandemic.
He further said that common people are badly hit by the price hike of daily commodities. “By increasing the prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinders again, the Modi government has made it clear that it is not concerned about the problems of the common people,” Subash Gupta said.
Subash Gupta while criticizing the UT regime said that common people were trying to come out of the adverse conditions that erupted during Covid-19 but the administration is trying to push them towards a harsh and tough atmosphere. After imposing several taxes like property tax, water tax, and now the government has given another gift to people of J&K in the form of tax on dogs, he added.
Subash Gupta said that the people are already reeling under the financial crunches due to the slowdown of the economy and such unnecessary taxes will add more burdens on them.
Alleging the Union Government of selling the government assets, Gupta said that recently the Narendra Modi-led NDA government has privatized 13 sectors under the National Monetization Pipeline (NMP). This is a clear attempt to sell strategically important sectors from roads to railway stations, airports to shipping ports to private entities, he added.
Prominent among others are Yugal Kishore Bali, Bhola Nath Sarpanch, Sat Pal ex-Sarpanch, Murari Lal, Bhushan Sangra, Ramesh Kuldel, Parveen Bhagat, Desh Bandhu, Vibushan ex- Sarpanch, Romesh Chander Panch, Sanjay Panch, Romesh Chander and others.
