Early Times Report KATHUA, Sept 15: Department of Geography, GDC, Basohli organized an online lecture on World Democracy Day under the aegis of 75th "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav", under the guidance of the Principal, Dr Nidhi Kotwal. The event commenced with a welcome address, and brief introduction about the event and the honourable speaker by Prof Pawan Kumar, HOD Geography. Advocate Puneet Kumari Attri, District Court Kathua was the resource person. She delivered a lecture on topic "COVID-19: A Spotlight on Democracy". She highlighted the problems faced by the people during COVID-19 pandemic nationwide in medical facilities, education, courts, offices, and transportation. Advocate Puneet further added that social, religious, and cultural events have also suffered during the pandemic. The event ended with formal vote of thanks by Dr RK Manhas. The event was attended by Prof Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Dr Kehar Singh, and Dr Shiv Kumar, and students of UG Semesters II and IV. |
