Police will go all out against drug menace, blue print prepared: IGP | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 15: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range, K Vijay Kumar on Wednesday announced that "Blue Print" has been prepared and police with the help of civil society will go all out against the drug menace in the valley. Besides youths, girls are now taking drugs in the valley which is not good for any society, IGP Kumar told reporters on the sideline of a sports function in Srinagar this afternoon. In reply to a question about drugs available easily in the valley, including Srinagar, Mr Kumar said a Blue Print has been prepared to launch a all out offensive against the drug menace. However, he said , we seek the help of you (media) and others to curb these anti social activities. To another question he said the operation against the drug peddlers and drug addicts will be launched later this month. He appreciated the organisers of the sports event" Taekwondo Championship" in Polo ground near here today. Such events will help to keep youths away from drugs. When asked if police department will also organize such sports activities, IGP Kumar said due to COVID we could not held sports activities. Now when the situation is better, police will organize sports events from next months. |
