Learn from PM Modi | | | On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged the people across the country to take pledge to use Hindi along with their mother tongue to make India ‘Atmanirbhar’ even with languages. He stated that being ‘Atmanirbhar’ is not just about producing within the country and people have to be ‘Atmanirbhar’ even with languages. The Union Home Minister referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking Hindi internationally. “What are we embarrassed about? Gone are the days when speaking in Hindi was a matter of concern,’’ Shah said. It’s unfortunate that people are leaving the national language and are switching to foreign languages. They consider themselves ultra modern by speaking in English rather than talking in Hindi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the precedence by delivering speeches in Hindi at international forums and stages without any hesitation. We should learn from him. During the past few years, Hindi language is being used extensively in the government offices, a lot of paperwork along with English is being done in Hindi. The present dispensation in the Centre is making people realize the importance of the national language. Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah while using twitter post their messages usually in Hindi along with English. This has led to many ministers and bureaucrats following the suit. Language is the most powerful medium to express emotion. Other than being the base of our cultural consciousness and national unity, Hindi also serves as a bridge between ancient civilization and modernity and progress. If one analyzes the trend in other countries, the preference is given to the national language. India is not the only country which has got its national language, all the countries across the globe have their own languages, besides speaking in that language official communications are also carried out in a national language of the country. People of India should realize the importance of the national language and use it along with their native language. Hindi is our identity and we cannot ignore it. There is no shame in talking and writing in Hindi. We have to preserve our language and pass it on to our future generations. India has inherited culture, language and ethos from its ancestors and it’s the duty of every Indian to preserve it. Technology and advancement shouldn’t take us away from our culture and heritage. |
