MC Bari Brahmana launches special cleanliness drive

SAMBA, Sept 27: Municipal Committee, Bari Brahmana today launched a special cleanliness drive here from Municipal Park Ward No 3 to mark the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahoutsav.
Puran Chand, President, Municipal Committee, Bari Brahmana and all Ward Members and civil society members of the town were present on the occasion.
The launch function was held under the guidance of Jodh Raj, Executive Officer and the arrangements were for the same were made by Ravinder Kumar Gupta, Assistant Sanitation Officer (ASO) and Kamal Kishore, Head Assistant. The print and electronic media personnel were specially invited to publicize the activities carried out during the function at Bari Brahmana.
The Executive Officer welcomed the participants including Ward Members and briefed about the main motive to organize the function “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahautsav”. The Executive Officer said that the programme will continue for the next eight days up to October 3, 2021 and a new task shall be carried out daily to educate the people of the town about the ways for keeping the Town Neat and Clean.
At the start of the function, the Executive Officer distributed the T-Shirts and Caps among all the Ward Members, participants and officials of Municipal Committee. The Executive Officer also distributed Jute bags to all the participants and thereafter flag off the special sanitation drive rally from Municipal Park Ward No 3 Bishnah road which passed through the lanes of Ward No 04, 05 and 03 and reached at the another venue Main Chowk Bari Brahmana below National Highway Bridge where suitable arrangement for participants were made.
A Nukad Natak was staged for educating the people about Dry Waste and Wet Waste. The people were provided Jute bags along with IEC collateral and advised to avoid use of polythene carry bags.
The Municipal Committee Bari Brahmana also honored the Safaimitras for their efforts in keeping the city neat and clean.
