PDP hit streets against termination of employees, Anganwari workers in J&K | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 27: Leaders and activists of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday hit the streets in Srinagar in protest against termination of employees and Anganwari workers besides price rise of essential commodities in the Jammu and Kashmir. PDP leaders and activists led by General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Hanjoora took out a procession in Srinagar raising slogans against the government for terminating government employees on fake charges, harassment of journalists and price rise of essential commodities. After marching through different streets, the processionists dispersed peacefully. Earlier, Hanjoora told reporters that they were protesting against termination of government employees on fake charges of their association with militancy. He said services Anganwari workers were also terminated after serving the state for about two decades. These workers helped the administration during COVID pandemic and other emergencies. Hanjoora also criticized the centre and local government for price rise of essential commodities. |
