Pak desperate to destabilize peace
9/28/2021 12:08:55 AM
Nearly seven months after agreeing to maintain ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani troops violated truce in Teetwal sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday.
The Indian Army gave a befitting reply and the exchange of fire didn’t continue for long. As the winter is coming near, Pakistan seems desperate to push in militants into Jammu and Kashmir before the infiltration routes get blocked.
On Monday General Officer Commanding of Srinagar based 15 Corps, Lieutenant General D P Pandey stated that there is “nothing to worry but mischief around LoC is expected.” He reiterated that the Indian Army is ready to face any challenge.
Pakistan has a habit of not sticking to its word and violating the agreements. Sunday’s ceasefire violation along LoC in Kupwara has once again proven those people right, who always say that the neighbouring country cannot be trusted and neither can it be relied upon.
Despite truce being in vogue, Pakistan is leaving no opportunity to push militants into Jammu and Kashmir and the ultras sponsored by it are carrying out the killings of unarmed policemen and political workers to ensure that fear continues to prevail across the Union Territory.
After August 5, 2019—when the Centre announced its decision to scrap J&K’s special status and divided it into two union territories—Pakistan made desperate attempts to push in more and more militants into Jammu and Kashmir but the robust counter infiltration grid at place along the Line of Control (LoC) thwarted most of the attempts. Militants, who are present in the Valley, are choosing soft targets as they are aware of the fact that they cannot confront the security forces and if they do so it would lead to their elimination.
On the other hand, militant bosses have realized that recruitment of locals has declined in the militant ranks and not many youth are showing any interest in taking up arms, nor are the people interested in hitting the streets and staging protests.
There are many people sitting across the LoC who are unable to digest that peace is prevailing in Kashmir and the people have accepted the change in status-quo. These elements are not sitting idle and would make every possible attempt to disturb the peace. Two defeat the nefarious designs of the adversary; the guard cannot be lowered nor can be the enemy trusted.
