| Sunrise Public School celebrates Gandhi Jayanti | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 1: Sunrise Public School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with school children here today at Green Belt Park Channi Himmat.
Sonu Sharma, a teacher of the school hosted the function. Manpreet Kour (School’s Founder Director) was the chief guest of the function. The function started by the host with few words on Mahatma Gandhi. School children also spoke on Gandhi. Saloni Singh, a 5th class student presented a speech on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan while Aafreena Khatun from class 3rd presented few lines on biography of Gandhi. A beautiful poem was recited by Kirti Ahirwar, a class 3rd student. A competition on drawing and essay writing was also organized by school administration for class 3rd to 6th. Themes of the competition were Gandhi, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and qualities of a good leader. Strength of each competition was ten children. The students who made best drawings and wrote well on topics given were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes by the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Manpreet Kour said that all children should come forward to take part in competitions. She wished a very happy Gandhi Jayanti to all present there.
At the end of the function biscuits were distributed among all the children present during the function. Others who were present during the function included Virender Kumar (School Coordinator), teachers Jyoti Bala, Asha Rani, Sonu Sharma and maid Nisha Devi.
