Dy Mayor hails decision to hold beating retreat parade at Suchetgarh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 1: Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma and Mahant Rajesh Bittu have welcomed the decision to hold Beating Retreat parade at Suchetgarh border. Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, JMC visited the Suchetgarh Border at RS Pura along with Mahant Rajesh Bittu and other prominent members of Border Tourism Development Committee. Deputy Mayor, JMC stated that it was the long pending demand of the locals that the parade like Wagah border, Amritsar should be started at Suchetgarh border. So, from tomorrow on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Beating Retreat parade at Suchetgarh Border only from India’s side is going to start. Purnima Sharma thanked PM Narendra Modi and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for such efforts. It will enhance our culture and tourism and our locals will get an important location at RS Pura, she added. Mahant Rajesh Bittu also thanked Lt Governor for his support. Mahant further thanked Council of Tourism Federation and Cultural & Heritage Forum for supporting this one sided parade at Suchetgarh border which will attract more tourists to this spot. Tarseem Sharma chairman BDC, Sarpanch Balbir Kour, Sarpanch Gurdeep Singh Sani and Sarpanch Surjeet Choudhary were also present. |
