Gurmeet Singh demands grant of Rs 1 crore for terminated health workers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 1: President Beopar Mandal and District General Sectary Congress Gurmeet Singh has strongly condemned the inhuman and brutal lathicharge on health workers who were protesting for their genuine demands in a legal and constitutional manner. Gurmeet Singh said that it is sad that the health workers serving the corona infected people during the difficult days amid the COVID-19 pandemic risked their lives and were honoured as the corona warriors were thrown out of their services which was going on for the last two years. No prior information or notice was handed over to them and now that these corona warriors, who are qualified and capable health workers have become jobless. Singh warned the BJP and the Union Territory administration not to play with the fate of the health workers and urged them to withdraw their decision of dismissal which is a complete injustice to these hardworking corona warriors. While speaking Gurmeet Singh also requested and suggested to Lt Governor to continue the services of health workers who have rendered their service during the very sensitive period of corona. If there is no possibility of their reinstating, then the families of all the terminated health workers should be granted Rs 1 crore for their livelihood. President Ward No 3 Hardavinder Singh, Suman Gupta, Sahil Mahajan, Vijay Sharma, Yash Sharma, Amarpreet Singh, Apu Singh beside others were present on the occasion.
