Need to upgrade sports infra for better results: Randhawa | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 2: Former MLC and Secretary Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) JKUT, Ch. Vikram Randhawa has demanded upgrading of sports infrastructure in Jammu region for better results by the talented sportspersons. Randhawa who paid a visit to the Skating Rink of MA Stadium today on the insistence of the parents of children undergoing training at MA Stadium interacted with the children undergoing skating training and their parents. The parents and trainees informed Randhawa that the Skating Rink needs to be upgraded for better performance of the players. They also informed that there is only one male coach to train large number of aspirants and further demanded that more coaches should be appointed so that the trainees may learn in a better way. Moreover, the girl trainees demanded appointment of a female coach to train them. Randhawa gave a patient hearing to the demands of the parents and their children undergoing skating training and assured them that all their genuine demands would be taken up with the Sports Council of Jammu and Kashmir for upgradation of Skating Rink as well as appointment of more coaches to cater the present need of the rising number of aspirants. He said that the BJP government is committed to promote sports talent in Jammu and Kashmir and all the required infrastructure would be upgraded accordingly. He also provided refreshment to the children on the occasion and assured all logistic and moral support to them so that they may excel in their field. The parents of the children appreciated the efforts of the former MLC and expressed their gratitude to him. Divisional Sports Officer, Ashok Singh and Coach Krish Gupta was also present on the occasion. |
