Poonch, Oct 2: ‘Swachh Bharat Mission,’ a Clean India drive that commenced in Poonch district is nothing but a mere eye wash, locals have alleged.
“There has been a huge embezzlement of funds on the name of Clean India drive. Poonch Municipality is already carrying on similar activities, this drive has provided it with an opportunity to grab more money in the name of cleanliness,” alleged a group of residents comprising Ghulam Rasool, Mohammad Javid, and Rahul Sharma.
They said, “The Clean India campaign commenced from the areas that were relatively clean. The areas that really deserve attention were left out.”
Locals appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to take strict action against the erring officers and demanded investigation into funds released for programs under "Swachh Bharat Mission" campaign. |
