NOWSHERA, Oct 2: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief spokesperson and former MLC Ravinder Sharma has questioned the UT administration for proposing to name educational institutions and roads, bridges etc after fake martyrs and lesser known persons at the cost of real martyrs and heroes of the nation, who laid down their lives for defending the borders and unity and integrity of the country. Paying rich tributes to the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi and second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversary today at impressive functions Sunderbani and Nowshera today, JKPCC Chief spokesperson took strong exception to the proposal for the naming of some academic institutions like colleges, schools and other buildings and roads, after some lesser known, unknown and even fake martyrs , ignoring the real heroes and martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation and awarded highest gallantry awards from time to time. He said that Mahatma Gandhi was the first martyr of the independent India and thereafter two former prime ministers were martyred besides a number of Army, police, security forces, officers and jawans including Brig Usman, Yadhu Nath Singh, Hav Deputy Lal, SI Sansar Chand and several others who gave supreme sacrifices and received gallantry awards but don’t find place in the list released in the district Rajouri. Surprisingly the list mentions names of some activists’ of ruling party or erstwhile Jan Sangh, having no history of martyrdom but shown as martyrs. He said that it is insult to the real heroes and martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation . He said that saviour of Nowshera Brig Usman, Yadhu Nath Singh, civilian martyrs of Qila Darhal, several Paramveer Chakra, Mahaveer Chakra, Vrc etc, and several other martyrs are not in the list while those who died natural death have been incorrectly shown as martyrs.
