DC Rajouri reviews arrangements for upcoming visit of Union Minister at Nowshera, Sunderbani, Kalakote subdivisions

RAJOURI, Oct 2: In wake of the scheduled visit of Union Minister to Rajouri under public outreach programme, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today conducted an extensive tour of Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote subdivisions to review the preparations and arrangements being put in place for a smooth tour of the Minister.
District Development Council Member Sunderbani, Rajinder Kumar; BDC Chairperson Sunderbani, Arun Sharma; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; CEO Tourism, Vivek Puri; CAO, Mahesh Verma; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; DPO, Chander Kant Bhagat; ExEn PWD Nowshera and SDPO Nowshera, Zakir Mirza attended the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner briefed the officers about the tour programme of the visiting Minister and the arrangements to be made by the concerned departments.
The DC enjoined upon the Officers of all the departments to work in a coordinated manner and ensure all necessary arrangements are made well in advance.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also visited Higher Secondary School Bajabai where a two day free veterinary and dental medical camp has been organised by the 17 Madras unit of the Army under Sadbhavana initiative.
The CO 17 Madras Unit, Rajinder Kumar Chandka briefed the DC about the services being provided to the public through the medical camp including medical examination of the people in need for diseases like cold, cough, joint pains and providing treatment and medicines accordingly besides, sheep, goats and cows are also being checked.
The DC appreciated the army for maintaining peace and harmony in the district through a number of Sadbhavana activities and urged upon the army officers to continue such initiatives for the public welfare.
He urged upon the public to avail the benefits of the camp.
Later, the DC also interacted with the sanitation workers and public in Nowshera town and asked them to maintain proper cleanliness as cleanliness has many benefits on health and environment.
At BDO office Siot, which is presently functioning in a panchayat ghar, he was apprised that the DPR for the construction of BDO office building adjacent to its present accommodation has been prepared and the work on the building would start soon.
The DC also inspected a number of works completed by the RDD including sanitary complex and protection wall at Gurudwara Thanapandi, where he paid obeisance and also prayed for the peace and harmony of the district. During his visit to the Tatapani spring, Cafeteria at Kalakote and Chingus Fort, the DC directed for maintaining proper cleanliness and sanitation at the tourist spots.
