DDC Councilor condemns shifting of model school from Bhera to Kalaban Pathanateer | | | Early Times Report
MENDHAR, Oct 2: District Development Council (DDC) member Mendhar-B constituency Wajid Bashir Khan (Tickoo) has condemned the decision of the education authorities to shift the location for construction of a model school from Bhera Sub-Division Mendhar to Kalaban Pathanateer arbitrarily. In a press release, Khan while expressing astonishment over the malafide decision of the authorities of education department for issuing an order to shift earlier sanctioned model school to be constructed at Bhera to Kalaban Pathanateer under the political duress and influence. Alleging attempt to cause a rift between two regions of same sub-division Wajid called it as a gimmick of some vested interests to divest an area of the schooling facility which already do not have the requisite educational institutions particularly for primary and middle standards, whereas the reality is that Kalaban area where the model school is ordered to be shifted has adequate number of primary and middle schools. Khan said that Government of India had sanctioned a model school for Tehsil Mendhar in the year 2009-10 and the proposed site for construction of the said school was Bhera adding that the Deputy Director P&S Directorate of School Education Jammu wrote a letter to CEO Poonch vide DSEJ/P307/2021-22/31731-733 dated 20/9/2021seeking proposal for acquirement of land at the centre of the Tehsil and also directed CEO to furnish the DPR's authenticated by the engineering wing of education department along with suitable location. The Councilor also alleged that Deputy CEO Lal Hussain instead of forwarding the proposal for construction of school in Bhera under the political influence of the former legislator Javed Ahmed Rana shifted the location to Kalaban Pathanateer which is not the central place for the said purpose and is located at a far off area of the Sub- Division. |
