‘Govt has failed to provide security to nationalist people’ | Kashmir Muslim women stage candle light protest, urge KPs not to leave Valley | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 10: Kashmiri Muslim women staged a candle light protest against the targeted killings of the members of the minority communities in the Valley and urged the Kashmiri Pandits not to leave the Valley. A group of women appeared near Ganta Ghar (Clock Tower) and expressed concern over KPs leaving the Valley again. “It’s sad to know that 200 KPs staying at Sheikhpora Budgam have left, we have also heard that some families from Raj Bagh too are leaving.” “We want to tell our KP brethren and sisters not to leave the Valley. We know that the government has failed to provide security to nationalist people. Among the 30 civilian killings that have taken place in Kashmir in 2021, 26 have been Muslims. If you people leave it will be a victory for the people who want to create a wedge between us. We are standing in solidarity with you so please don’t leave,” the women said. |
