JAMMU, Oct 17: Sainik Football Club ‘A’ team clinched the Auricrown 7-a-side Football Champions Cup 2021 trophy here today defeating the Star Football Club in a well contested match by two goals to nil.
Superb moves by Akshay and Dushyant of Sainik Football Club broke into the defence of Star Football Club repeatedly leaving the opponents no time or technique to recover. The match was evenly poised till the whistle blew for the half time and it was the ability to convert the couple of opportunities into goals that finally decided the game.
Akshay was awarded the Man of the Match and Parth Koul was awarded the Man of the Tournament. Rishabh Dogra with five goals was the top scorer in the tournament.
Kulbir Singh, JKPS, Commandant, 18th Battalion, Indian Reserve Police, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion of Final Match and Prize Distribution ceremony presented the Champion’s Cup, runners–up trophy and other awards in a well organized closing ceremony.
The seven day long Tournament organized by Auricrown Private limited in collaboration with Sainik Football Club, in which 32 teams of Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur districts participated, was sponsored by Powergrid, Radisson Blu, Gulati Oils Pvt Ltd., N-tromers, M/s Kamal Traders and Sheela Jewellers.
