Precariousness continues to exist over fate of VCs of JU, CUJ: NSF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 17: On the pressure of some forces including a leading political party, the JKUT Government has failed to get the suitable replacement of Manoj Dhar and of Ashok Aima, VC CUJ, still existing as Vice Chancellors despite completion of their tenures since long. This was stated by Dr Vikas Sharma, State President National Secular Forum (NSF) in a press conference today and expressed deep concern over uncertainty being allowed by the Government on the appointments of appropriate persons to man both the posts of Vice Chancellor University of Jammu and Central University, Jammu, he rued adding that the tenures of both VCs viz Manoj Dhar and Ashok Aima stand expired since long, but, unfortunately both of them are still occupying the Chairs with JKUT and Central Governments behaving like a mute spector, Dr Vikas, added. He said that similar precariousness continues to haunt the position of VC Jammu, whose tenure expired in 26 July 2021, but as yet, even not a Search Committee has been constituted by the Government to find out suitable replacement of Prof Dhar, he said adding that even none knows about his status about extension or otherwise, which the Govt must clarify so that the dust of uncertainty gets settled for the overall academic health of both the universities in Jammu, he demanded. He strongly demanded that Jammu University and Central University Jammu being prominent temples of higher education in Jammu Division of JKUT cannot be allowed at the mercy of uncertainty like this and full time persons need to be posted as VCs to steer and lead both the universities in the right direction, he added. |
