AKHNOOR, Oct 20: Eight councilors of BJP-led Municipal Committee Akhnoor moved a no-confidence motion against the incumbent Municipal President and Vice President for their alleged non-satisfactory performance and unruly behaviour. The MC Akhnoor has 13 wards and all 13 are ruled by BJP councilors. Karan Singh councilor ward 3 and Baldev Raj councilor ward 4 presented No Confidence Motion which was signed by eight councilors. They submitted the copy addressed to the President in his office and presented the copy to Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Akhnoor. Karan leveled serious allegations on President Surinder Sharma and Amita Gupta for ignoring the rest of councilors in decision making. He alleged that drainage and lanes of Akhnoor town are yet undeveloped which is a serious concern. He alleged that the President and Vice President have failed to deliver as per people's aspirations because of which they both have lost the confidence of the majority in Municipal Committee Akhnoor. Baldev said that it was decided unanimously by the house that chance to be the President and Vice President of MC Akhnoor will be given to all and in same pattern the well delivering President Depesh Singh was replaced by Surinder Sharma but after completing one year as committed in house he is not resigning down from his post.
