Border Kissan Union demands compensation to farmers for losses | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Oct 27: The farmers of Ramgarh area gathered under the banner of Border Kissan (BK) Union Ramgarh Samba and submitted their memorandum to Lt Governor JKUT through Tehsildar Ramgarh. The farmers claimed that it is for the first time in this century that the so heavy hailstorm and rain on October 23 damaged 100% kharif crops and ruined the dreams of farmers of area and put same to face financial crunch. The farmers invited the attention of govt for meeting their both ends to meet in order to survive. The farmers said in one voice that the minimum fix and overhead expenses usually occur on paddy growing are not less than Rs 4000 per kanal BK Union requested the government to pay heed to the grievances and redress them in letter and spirit. Apart from this, the left out beneficiaries of damaged crops during 2019 are still in transit to get the relief till date sanctioned in their favour. So the district administration is time and again requested to liquidate same in one go. The agitators includes Mohan Singh Bhatti President of BKU along with Prem Pal Chaudhary, Gurmail Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Arjan Singh, Bachan Lal, Manjit Singh, Balbir Singh, Captain Baljit Singh, Sarpanch Karnail Singh, Jagir Singh and the farmers of the area. |
