Officer Trainees of Indian Information Service call on JDIPR

JAMMU, Oct 27: A group of officer trainees of Indian Information Service (IIS) today called on officers of Joint Directorate of Information, Jammu as part of their regional attachment to Information office and other media units of Jammu. These officer trainees are presently undergoing Induction training at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.
The officers of JDIPR presented an overview of the departmental working with in depth presentation on each dealing section including Audio Video section, Newsroom section, Advertisement section, Anti Plagrism section, FPU section, cultural wing and organizational setup.
The IIS officer trainees had a comprehensive interaction with Deputy Director Public Relations, Jammu, Gul Hassan Kripak and Deputy Director, Headquarters, Dr Rehana Bijli regarding the overall working and job profile of Information Department.
Dr Rehana elaborately explained to the officers about DIPR which functions as a crucial link between the people and the administration through disseminating information on government policies and programmes in an objective and transparent manner. She called upon them to always keep themselves updated in order to be more effective in communicating the government policies and programmes to the people. She also shared with them the experiences of J&K Information Officers working with different departments of the government. Gul Hassan, who also had a detailed interaction with these trainee officers, urged IIS officers to develop strong professional networks with the media community, so that they can disseminate correct information concerning issues of public importance and check misinformation. He said that by doing so they would be able to ensure that the government's outreach and communication with people shall remain relevant, timely, practical and effective. The IIS Officer Trainees, who visited the JDIPR, included Abhishek Shukla, Apurva Kumar Singh, Ritu Kataria and Vivek Pathak.
