Mankotia issues life threats to JKNPP district president, FIR lodged
10/27/2021 10:42:52 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 27: Shocked over the threat call received from ex-MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Surinder Singh Chauhan JKNPP District President (Jammu Rural) filed an FIR against him at Police Station, Satwari in Jammu. This was stated by Chauhan in a press conference held at Press Club, Jammu today.
Addressing the media, Surinder Singh Chauhan revealed that on Monday night at about 10:30 p.m ex-MLA Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia called him from mobile No. 9419180768 and before he could speak a word, Mankotia shouted at him and hurled filthiest abuses upon him. "Mankotia even did not spare my father, mother and sisters in the hurled invectives while speaking to me in the most obscene and derogatory parlance. He even went to an extent that he issued threats of physically eliminating me," disclosed Chauhan. He said that ex-MLA sounded slurred in his speech as he was heavily drunk.
Chauhan further divulged that Mankotia ferociously shouted at him saying that while he was the Party President, the former was made to remain calm and docile but ever since his resignation from Panthers Party, he (Chauhan) had become politically active on the media to raise public issues. "Mankotia categorically warned me to stay away from the party affairs and political activism or else I would be forced to face dire consequences. This was shocking and not at all expected from him," Chauhan said. He said the ex-MLA has become frustrated and earned a dubious notoriety in threatening, intimidating and harassing NPP leaders and activists particularly in district Udhampur after leaving the party. His audio-visual recordings have also gone viral, added Chauhan.
Showing the receipt of the FIR lodged against Balwant Singh Mankotia, Chauhan drew the attention of Police administration to take strict punitive action against the ex-MLA as warranted under law. He said that such politicians were a threat to democracy and the society at large. "I'm not feeling safe and secure after receiving his threats. If any harm is done to me or my family member, Balwant Mankotia shall be squarely responsible for the same. He should be immediately brought to book," urged Chauhan.
