Mayor kick starts development works in Bahu Fort area | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 27: Continuing his endeavour to provide better civic and development amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Sharda Kumari Councillor of Ward No 47 kick started the construction work of Community Hall near Raja Jambu Lochan Chowk at Kacha Talab Bahu Fort area. Vinay Gupta, President BJP Jammu Distt. Dalbeer Singh Ward President, Narinder Gupta (Koki) and other prominent inhabitants of Bahu Fort and its adjoining localities as well as RK Mahajan Executive Engineer, RK Khajuria Assistant Executive Engineer, Neeraj Verma, Junior Engineer & other supervisory staff of Division No 1 were also accompanied the Mayor during the function. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that it was the long pending demands of the locals as most of the families residing in this area belongs to below poverty line and facing great hardships due to non-availability of a suitable space/ Community Hall where they can organize social, religious and other allied functions and after the sincere efforts of the concerned Councillor of the ward, this much needed construction work has been started today by the Engineering wing of JMC with an estimate cost of Rs 22 lakh. He further told that all the councillors in consultation with officers of JMC are committed to provide best possible development & other amenities for the residents of Jammu City from the last three years when they were duly elected & also appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC & other allied departments in all the development works being undertaken in their respective wards as well as under "Jammu Smart City Projects" so that Jammu can be made neat, clean and green city. |
