| Meenakshi Lekhi inaugurates first ever Lit Festival at Gulmarg as part of iconic week celebrations | | |

Srinagar, Oct 27: Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Leekhi on Wednesday inaugurated the first ever literary festival at ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir to celebrate “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
An official spokesman said, the festival organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Government has brought numerous literary personalities across the country to mark the 75 years of independence.
Acclaimed writers, emerging poets, intellectuals discussed and analyzed several aspects of literary traditions participated in the festival.
Meenakshi Leekhi said that such kind of festivals is inspiring youth across the country to explore their inherent creativity and is also attracting literati loving people.
She emphasized that literary festivals provide a platform to the budding writers and young enthusiasts to express their ideas and feelings.
Leekhi expressed that Kashmir has always been a seat of learning cultures since ancient times and maintained that these lit festivals can play a part in maintaining that harmony and coexistence.
She stressed that such festivals definitely protect our culture, heritage and also play a role in celebrating our 'Unity in Diversity'
