AJKPC demands amendment in reservation laws | | | Early Times Report
R S PURA, Oct 27: General Secretary All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) and Sarpanch Panchayat Gandli R S Pura, Gurdeep Singh Saini has strongly criticized the present reservation scheme for jobs as well as in academic and professional qualifications for various categories alleging that this system on one hand provides double benefit to the reserved category aspirants while applying for jobs and on the other hand deprives the deserving aspirants having applied under the general category. In a statement, Saini said that under the existing scheme the reservation for OBCs is 27 percent, for IB 4 percent, for EWS 10 percent besides others which when aggregated works out to 48 percent. He said that this means that only the remaining 52 percent is left for the aspirants falling under the Open Merit category. He said that the scheme does not end here only because those having applied under reserved category if found to be fitting in the open category on merit, are shifted to the open merit category so that under the reserved category his job goes to another person belonging to his category. Hence it amounts to double benefit to the reserved categories and ultimately encroaches the space of open merit category job aspirants. |
