| NYK Udhampur concludes Clean India campaign | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Nov 1: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Govt of India) organized the concluding ceremony of month long Clean India campaign under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations. Along with, National Unity Day was also celebrated to commemorate Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birth anniversary. A unity as well as cleanliness rally was organized across the Garhi market amid slogans "Clean India, Green India", "Swachhta Hi Seva" & "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". On the occasion, the chief guest of the programme, Lal Chand (DDC Chairman Udhampur) threw light on the life and works of Sardar Patel and his achievements in the Indian freedom struggle. He also urged the denizens to adopt cleanliness in their daily routines. He gave a strong message of Swachhta to the business community and appreciated the role of NYK volunteers in actualizing the dream of Mahatma Gandhi. Afterwards, he flagged off the Unity Rally. District Youth Officer, Khushal Gupta briefed the work and activities of NYK Udhampur during the month long campaign. He added that NYK volunteers and youth clubs have been able to collect and dispose more than 13000 Kg of plastic in a mission mode.
Others who were present and addressed included APA NYK Udhampur Souravdeep, Sarpanch Sushma Sharma, Sarpanch Sushma Abrol, Panch Daleep Kumar, Social Worker Chander Mohini, Officials of Bhartiya Kala Manch Deepak Kumar, Aditya Deep and others.
Similar programmes were organised at other blocks as well. In Ramnagar, a unity run was organized by NYVs Anil and Bharti involving more than 100 youth wherein MC Chairman, Makhan Lal was chief guest. Similarly in Chenani block, NYV Jyoti Sharma organized cleanliness drive at multiple places including Ward No 4 and 5. Chairman MC Manik Gupta was the chief guest in block Chenani. |
