Govt PG College Rajouri holds National Conference on Arabic Language

RAJOURI, Nov 1: The Post Graduate Department of Arabic of Govt. PG College Rajouri organized one day National conference on "Relevance and prospects of Arabic language in present era" here today.
The Newly established PG Department of Arabic organized its first national level conference under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina, Principal of College. Prof. (Dr.) Abdul Majid Qazi, Head Department of Arabic, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi was chief guest whereas Prof. (Dr.) Abdul Rehman War, Principal (Rtd.) and Director Institute of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, Soura Srinagar was Guest of Honour on the occasion. Prof. (Dr.) Ubaid Ur Rahman Tayyeb, JNU, New Delhi was the keynote speaker who spoke at length on the "Relevance and prospects of Arabic language in present era".
In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina, gave an overview of College besides explaining the importance of organizing the conference.
Prof. Majid Qazi delivered detailed lecture on the theme and underlined the academic excellence of college in the remote corner of country. He appreciated the College Principal and staff and ensured his wholehearted support to strengthen newly opened PG Department of Arabic in the College.
In the plenary session, four invited lectures were delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Abdul Rehman War, Dr. Shezad Anwari, Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman, Assistant Prof. and Head, Department of Arabic, GDC Darhal and Dr. Ashaq Malik from the College.
In the technical session over 40 faculty members and scholars from various universities and colleges across Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of country presented papers in on various themes. Both the sessions were chaired by Prof. Majid Qazi. Prof. Mamoon Rashid Jami and Dr. Mohd Tafseer Ayoubi conducted the proceedings of technical session.
Other prominent speakers who spoke on the occasion include Iqbal Shawl noted literary figure and Prof. Mohd Iqbal Raina, Convener, Literary and Cultural Committee in the college.
