| GDC Kalakote celebrates "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" | | |

KALAKOTE, Nov 1: Commemorating the 146th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) and Rashtriya Sankalp Diwas under the aegis of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" was observed in GDC Kalakote under the guidance of the Principal (GDC Kalakote) Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta.
An essay writing competition was organized in Hindi by Priyanka Kumari on the topic "Role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in National Unity" which saw enthusiastic participation from the students. On this day, Dr Palvi Mangotra successfully created awareness about "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" and honoured Sardar Patel. Before the commencement of the essay writing competition, all the members of the college fraternity viz-a-viz; Dr Afa-Dul Mujaba, Dr Mohd Shakoor, Vrinda Sharma, Manoj Kumar, Surbhi Sethi, and Vishav Jeet Dutta and students took the pledge administered by the Principal of the College to uphold unity and integrity of the nation. Addressing the students and staff members Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GDC Kalakote said, "The observance of this auspicious day not only commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who was the architect of national integration of independent India, but it reaffirms the inherent strength and resilience of the nation, as well, in order to withstand the actual threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country." |
