| GDC Pouni conducts water bodies' cleanliness drive | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Nov 1: The NSS Unit of GDC Pouni in collaboration with Department of Environmental Sciences of Government Degree College, Pouni, Reasi conducted water bodies' cleanliness drive under the aegis of "Clean India Programme" today under the patronage of Principal Prof Rajni Bhagat. During this cleanliness drive, two water bodies near Domel (bowlis) cleaned by the students of NSS wing under the guidance of Prof Balbir Kumar, NSS Programme Officer and Prof Bindu Sharma, HOD, Environmental Sciences .
Apart from this, Plastic was also collected from the surrounding of "bowlis" by staff and students. Principal Prof Rajni and Prof Bindu Sharma addressed the students and emphasized that water is most precious resource which must be conserved from getting polluted and students being active citizens can act as social messenger to disseminate such messages to the general masses at large. They also highlighted how we protect water bodies' from plastic and its related materials in the larger interest of mankind and other organisms in particular.
The staff members who actively worked to make this event successful were Dr Tarseem Kumar, Prof Jaspal Singh and Suresh Kumar, PTI of the college. |
