Clean India campaign concludes at Kathua | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Nov 1: NSS units GDC Kathua today concluded one month long Clean India campaign under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav which was launched on Mahatama Gandhi's 152nd birth anniversary on 2nd October. This campaign was concluded by organizing cleanliness drive and awareness campaign at Railway Road near Chenab Textile Mill Kathua. Under this drive, Volunteers collected plastic and ploythene waste from the outskirts of CTM, Railway Road and CTM market near Govindsar and disposed off the waste in the proper place. Volunteers also interacted with the factory workers and appeal them to say no to polythene and single use plastic and use jute bags instead of single us plastic and polythene. Volunteers also aware and warn them about the Corona Pandemic and appeal them to follow corona guidelines of wearing mask, use hand sanitizer and maintain social distancing. Later on volunteers conducted door to door campaign among the shopkeepers and also appeal them to serve customers purchased items in jute bags instead of polythene and further appeal them to follow covid guidelines also in their day to day business. Swacchta pledge was organized there among factory workers and shopkeepers. Activities like Symposium, Swacchta Plog Run, Poster Making competition, Say no to polythene and single use plastic campaign and numbers of cleanliness drive in and outside the college premises were the part of this one long month Clean India campaign. This one month long Clean India campaign was organized under the patronage of Incharge Principal Prof Raj Kiran Sharma and under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Prof Manmohan Singh, Prof Ritu Kumar Sharma and Prof Neha Bandral. |
