Market checking intensified in district Samba amid Festival Season | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Nov 2: District Administration Samba today carried out intensive market inspection to keep check on quality of products, overpricing and profiteering amid the heavy rush of shoppers being witnessed in the ongoing festival season. During the market checking drive, the team of officers imposed heavy penalties on erring traders. The team, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Anuradha Gupta, inspected Sweet Shops, Dhabbas, restaurants, Bakery shops, Gift shops, Karyana Shops and others. A Mobile 'Food Safety on Wheels" van of the Department of Food Safety was also deployed and 39 samples were tested on spot while 05 samples failed the test. The Department of legal Metrology challaned 13 establishments and imposed Rs. 26,000 penalty on erring traders. The Revenue and police teams also carried out market checking and imposed penalties on violators on non adherence of covid appropriate behavior. |
