PM Modi meets Israel, Nepal PMs, Ukraine President

Glasgow/New Delhi, Nov 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held bilateral meetings with a number of world leaders, including Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Nepal PM Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the COP26 in Glasgow. PM Modi and his Israeli counterpart had met on the sidelines of the COP26 on Monday, and exchanged a lively conversation like old friends, though it was their first meeting, which was symbolic of the close ties between the two countries.
On Tuesday, the two leaders held their first bilateral engagement during which the two sides reviewed the bilateral ties and discussed expanding cooperation in areas of high-technology and innovation.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a tweet, said:
“Furthering ties with our Strategic Partner.
PM @narendramodi met PM of Israel @naftalibennett
in Glasgow today.
“In their first such engagement, the two leaders reviewed our bilateral ties and discussed expanding cooperation in areas of high-technology & innovation,” he posted.
The meeting with the Nepal PM was also the first since Deuba became PM earlier this year. The two discussed ways to further strengthen the close bilateral ties.
The spokesperson tweeted:
“PM @narendramodi met PM of Nepal @SherBDeuba
today. In their first engagement since PM Deuba assumed office, the two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen our close bilateral ties.
“Also discussed climate,COVID-19 & resolved to work together toward post pandemic recovery.”
During the meeting with the Ukraine President, PM Modi appreciated Ukraine’s cooperation during the COVID-19 pandemic, including mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
The MEA spokesperson posted:
“On the sidelines of #COP26 today, PM @narendramodi
met President of Ukraine @ZelenskyyUa
“Exchanged views on bilateral & regional developments. Also appreciated the India -Ukraine cooperation during the COVID-19 pandemic, including mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccination certificates.”
