DC asks for taking stern action against illegal river bed extraction in Poonch | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, Nov 2: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today discussed measures to curb illegal mining in the district here at a Multi Departmental District Level Task Force meeting. The meeting also discussed the process of issuance of NOCs for E-Auction of Rajpura Limestone Block at Mandi. The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the concerned departments to take all the necessary steps needed for facilitation of mining leases of E-Auction for project proponents. The DDC asked the members of the District Task Force Committee to work in close coordination to keep check on illegal mining in the district. He asked the SSP Poonch to facilitate all possible support to the checking squads to put in place a robust and formidable mechanism against those indulging in illegal mining. He asked the committee including representatives of Pollution Control Board, revenue, DMO and SHO concerned to ensure coherence and vitality of the whole process and report within10 days. He said directed eviction of all Stone Crushers built on state land and sealing of those functioning without GST bill. The DC directed the irrigation department to demarcate all kuls and Canals in coordination with concerned Tehsildars.
