Mayor kick starts development works at Upper Shiv Nagar area

JAMMU, Nov 2: Continuing his drive to provide more development and civic amenities to the citizens of Jammu, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta along with Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma today kick started the construction work of Community Hall/ Health centre in the premises of Shiv Mandir situated at Upper Shiv Nagar of Ward No 33.
Surinder Choudhary Councillor of Ward No 29, Kamla Gupta along with other prominent members of Shiv Mandir Management Committee, Jugal Dogra, Ved Parkash Gupta, Bawa Sharma, Naseeb Raj, Kiran Sharma and others also accompanied the Mayor and Member Parliament.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that it was the long pending demands of the Mandir Committee members as well as inhabitants of Shiv Nagar, Rajpura and its adjoining localities for establishment of a Community Hall/Health centre for the convenience of the residents of the locality as there is no such type of facility in their locality where they can organize social, religious and health related functions.
In order to redress their much needed demands, JMC has today kick started the construction work of well furnished community Hall /Health centre with an amount of Rs 50 lakh only, he added.
He further said that all the Councillors of JMC are committed to provide best possible development and other allied facilities in all the wards of the city.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament, also spoke on the occasion and praised for the initiatives being taken by all the Councillors in executing the development works uniformly in all the 75 wards especially from the last three years and steps taken in keeping the city neat, clean & green. He also appreciated the work done interms of development of vertical gardens from Dogra Chowk towards BC road, installation of sign boards in various parts of the city and other allied works under Jammu Smart City Project. Members of the Mandir Committee upper Shiv Nagar also extended lot of gratitude to the dignitaries for paying visit in the ward and taking keen interest towards development of much needed community Hall/ Health centre in the Mandir premises.
