Chairperson DDC Kishtwar reviews status of developmental projects
Stresses on timeline completion of works, judicious utilization of funds

KISHTWAR, Nov 11: Chairperson, District Development Council, Kishtwar Pooja Thakur today chaired a day long General Council meeting here in conference Hall DC office Complex to review the status of developmental projects / works being undertaken under District Capex 2021-22 and under other schemes in the District.
District Development Commissioner, Ashok Sharma; Additional District Development Commissioner/CEO DDC, Sham Lal; Chairpersons of Block Development Councils and DDC members, Joint Director Planning, ACP, DPO besides other District officers and sectoral officers attended the meeting. At the outset, the ADDC/CEO District Development Council Sham Lal apprised the house about the physical and financial status of ongoing projects of R&B, PMGSY, PHE, PDD, I&FC, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Forests, Social Forestry, ICDS and other Departments through power point presentation.
The DDC chairperson stressed on the concerned officers to mobilize the resources at work places and speed up the pace of developmental works with strict adherence to the quality of parameters. Laying emphasis on the timely completion of all projects, the chairperson asked the executing agencies to judiciously utilise the funds and resolve bottlenecks, if any, so that benefits of developmental projects accrue to the public. Special thrust was laid on generating awareness regarding the social sector schemes for women, elderly, differently abled, orphan children, girl child, SC, ST & others.
During the interaction, the BDC and DDC members also apprised the council about the issues and demands pertaining to their respective blocks and constituencies. They inquired about the status of compensation on account of land acquisition and natural disasters, tendering of PMGSY projects, availability of potable water, functioning of Water Supply Schemes etc.
The DDC Kishtwar stressed on all the departments and members of general council to work in a coordination to bring tangible results on ground and to ramp up the developmental tempo of the district.
The sector wise action taken on the decisions taken in the previous meeting were also reviewed.
All the Departments were asked to share the list of ongoing and upcoming projects during the FY 2020-21 within a week and also furnished month wise progress reports to the DDC. During the meeting, a video clip displaying the awareness regarding "Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani" was also screened to educate the DDC and BDC members and they were asked to replicate this initiative in their respective areas. District Development Commissioner, Ashok Sharma solicited the support of BDC chairpersons and DDC members in motivating the unorganised sector workers for registering themselves with the e-Shram portal to avail different benefits.
