11/11/2021 11:23:18 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 11: The Union Home Ministry has decided to redeploy the Border Security Force (BSF) for internal security in Kashmir Valley as part of the final assault of terrorism.
The Union Home Minister has realized that the recent incident of selective killings was the result of prevailing frustration among terror groups so it was high time to deploy additional force to frustrate all evil designs of these groups.
Sources said that intelligence agencies have suggested that after recent killings of so-called top commanders terror groups were indulged in selective killings to create a fear psychosis.
“Apar from Army, CRPF and Jammu, and Kashmir Police, the BSF will also be deployed for internal security to further strengthen security apparatus in Kashmir Valley”, sources said.
Sources said that after a gap of 14 long years, the BSF will be again deployed with other forces to take on terrorism. “Decision of redeploying BSF was taken during high-level security review meeting convened by Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in October”, sources said.
Sources said that BSF will be deployed in Kashmir Valley in a phased manner. In the first phase, over 20 companies of BSF will be deployed at vital installations. The BSF will also coordinate with other forces in anti-terror operations.
Reports said that BSF will be deployed in Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Kulgam, and Baramulla. Some of these companies will replace CRPF companies. The CRPF personnel will be deployed to handle the law and order situation.
After the eruption of terrorism in Kashmir Valley, BSF was deployed in Kashmir Valley and the force had launched many anti-terror operations. Till 2005, BSF was fighting terrorism in Kashmir Valley along with other forces including the Army. After 2005 BSF was gradually removed from anti-terror operations and shifted on the border to check infiltration.
Sources said that BSF has experience of fighting terrorism in Kashmir as it was involved in counter-terrorism operations. Furthermore, the intelligence system of BSF is very capable, which is also active in the border areas. BSF is also fully aware of the geographical, social, and security conditions of Kashmir. BSF has experience of fighting in urban areas, forests, plains, water, and even in mountains.
