BASOHLI, Nov 11: Government Degree College (GDC) Basohli organized an online lecture on National Education Day under the aegis of 75th "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav", and the guidance of Dr Nidhi Kotwal, Principal, GDC Basohli.
Dr RK Manhas, Assistant Professor in Botany, GDC Basohli was the resource person and he delivered a lecture on the topic "Role of Maulana Azad viz-a-viz Education System in India". In the first part of his lecture, he discussed about the history and importance of the National Education Day. After this, he described the role of Maulana Azad, the first Education Minister of the independent India, in the development of modern education system of India. The role of Maulana Azad in the establishment of the prime educational institutes like UGC and IIT Kharagpur, along with major cultural and literary academies was also elaborated. The lecture was attended by 28 students and all the faculty members of the college. The event ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Gotam Singh, HOD, Computer Sciences Department, GDC Basohli. |
