| GDC Marh observes National Education Day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 11: To mark the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of Independent India, Department of Education, Govt Degree College (GDC) Marh organized an online symposium on National Education Day under the patronship of Principal Prof Aekta Gupta. The Symposium started with the welcome address by Prof Ashu Jolly, Head, Deptt of Education. Principal of the College, Prof Aekta Gupta, stressed upon the importance of education for an individual as well as for society and importance of online classes in the present times for students and teachers. Students of the college enthusiastically participated in the symposium .They added colour to the day's event by expressing the their views on the thoughts of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in relation to New Education Policy 2020.All the faculty members also attended the programme and highly appreciated the participation of students . They also stressed upon the relationship between education and social development. The programme was judged by Prof Anita Kuamri, Deptt of English and Prof Tanu Sharma, DeptT of Hindi. First position was bagged by Anchal Sharma of Sem 5th, Nikhil Kumar and Shivani Sharma of Sem 1st were adjudged at second and third positions respectively. The programme ended with a vote of thanks presented by Asstt Prof Ashu Jolly, HOD Education. |
