Shiv Sena stages protest against Kangana's freedom remarks | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 13: 13: Reacting strongly to the statement of Kangana Ranaut, the leaders of Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit have demanded that she should be exiled and asked to return national award Padma Shri. A large number of Shiv Sainiks instructed by Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit staged a strong protest against Kangana and burnt her effigy amid vociferous slogans against the elements denigrating the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to free India from the British rule. They advocated Kangana's expulsion from the country besides demanding stringent legal action for making such unwanted statement. It may be recalled that Kangana had stated that India got freedom after begging in 1947 but the real freedom was achieved in 2014. In her address on the occasion, Meenakshi Chhibber, President Women's Wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Unit of Shiv Sena questioned Kangana that if the country has got freedom in begging, then what she has to say about the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations across the nation to pay tributes to the countless freedom fighters due to whose efforts we got freedom in 1947. She said that Kangana's statement is an insult to the countless martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country and asserted that such an insult cannot be tolerated at all. |
