Jammu, Nov 15: Jammu & Kashmir State Level Coordinating Agency (J&KSLCA) in collaboration with National Institute of Social Defense (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MOSJE), Govt. of India organized an online webinar for Nursing students of B. R. College of Paramedical Sciences & Nursing Gangyal, Jammu on topic “Role of Nursing Students in Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment”. Resource person for the webinar was Dr. Raghav Shah, Director & Consultant, Psychiatry and De-addiction, Rajasthan Hospital. More than 100 nursing students took part in the webinar. Webinar started with inaugural speech by NISD host, Prerna Chowdhary. She welcomed and introduced worthy Resource person to all the participants and also introduced herself, her organization and motive of the webinar. Then, Resource person with the help of PowerPoint Presentation educated participants about substance abuse and types of substances. He further explained different factors leading to substance abuse, brief interventions, harmful effects of substance abuse, role of nurses, preventive measures and treatment. Webinar ended with healthy discussion and Question-Answer session. Resource person patiently solved all the queries of participants. At last, Principal, B.R. College, Afsal Ahammed Kunju thanked J&K State Level Coordinating Agency for organizing such programs. Overall webinar was very interactive and knowledgeable. Prerna concluded the workshop with vote of thanks to worthy resource person and all the participants. |
