| PMAY fails to reach Poonch | | |  Early Times Report
Poonch, Nov 15: Tall claims of the Jammu and Kashmir administration to provide houses to the poor people under Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) seem confined to papers only.
Many people in frontier district on Poonch still live in mud houses as the benefits of the PMAY are yet to reach them. “We were promised by the Panchayat representatives that we will be provided with the funds to build new houses but these promises proved to be a hoax,” residents said.
They said, “Till date no one has come forward to help us. We have heard that the government provides money for building houses but that scheme is yet to reach our village.”
Residents urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and order a probe to ascertain why the benefits of PMAY are yet to reach Poonch. |
